Spinning disc gets most prestigious chemical engineering award in the world

The rotor-rotor multiple spinning disc extractor has been awarded the Core Chemical Engineering Award 2013 by the Institution of Chemical Engineers. The IChemE 2013 Awards provide a platform to recognise and reward chemical engineering innovation and excellence. The awards were presented at a gala dinner at the Bolton Whites Hotel, Bolton (UK). John van der Schaaf of the Eindhoven University of Technology was there to collect the award.

The Core Chemical Engineering Award is sponsored by Simon Carves Engineering and recognises the project or process that best demonstrates a chemical engineering solution to improve resource efficiency, lifetime value and/or process optimisation. The award was presented to the Eindhoven University of Technology team for the work done in the last years on the development and implementation of spinning disc technology.
